Quick answers
- Is the 2025-D Juliette Gordon Low Quarter rare?
- Not by date: 130 million were struck. A sharp uncirculated coin or a known variety is what makes one special.
- Is the 2025-D Juliette Gordon Low Quarter silver?
- No. It's copper core clad in 75% copper / 25% nickel. Quarters dated 1964 and earlier are 90% silver.
- Where is the mint mark on a 2025 American Women Quarter?
- On the obverse (P, D or S). On this coin the mark is D, for Denver.
- How many 2025-D Juliette Gordon Low Quarter coins were made?
- 130,200,000.
What to check on your 2025-D
- Make sure the mint mark really is a D. A worn or filled mark can be misread. It's what separates your coin from the 2025-P (200 million made).
- A face that's fully copper colored could be a missing clad layer error. Patchy discoloration is usually damage.
- Judge the grade under good light. Modern quarters are graded on luster, strike and marks. Proofs are judged on cameo contrast.
With 130 million made, the 2025-D still turns up in everyday change. Keep yours only if it looks uncirculated or shows a variety; otherwise it's worth face value.
The story of the 2025-D Juliette Gordon Low
Denver made 130,200,000 of the Juliette Gordon Low quarter. Among the 5 designs of 2025 it was the second largest Denver run, between Dr. Vera Rubin (63 million) and Ida B. Wells (143 million).
Philadelphia struck more of the same design, 200 million, so the 2025-D is the scarcer of the pair by about 35 percent.
Across the whole program it's one of the Denver designs made in the smallest numbers, 4th from the bottom of 20.
Elsewhere in US coinage in 2025
The Treasury announced the end of penny production for circulation and the last circulating cents were struck in Philadelphia in November 2025. It was also the final year of the American Women quarters.
How to recognize it
The Juliette Gordon Low design
Juliette Gordon Low (1860 to 1927) founded the Girl Scouts in her hometown of Savannah, Georgia, in 1912. Inspired by meeting Robert Baden-Powell, founder of the Boy Scouts, she gathered the first troop of girls and promoted outdoor skills, citizenship and self-reliance. She guided the organization through its early growth and helped fund it herself. The reverse shows her beside the original Girl Scout trefoil, which she designed and patented, with the inscription FOUNDER OF GIRL SCOUTS OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
The American Women Quarter design
The obverse shows a new portrait of George Washington by Laura Gardin Fraser, originally submitted in the 1931 design competition. Each reverse honors a woman who shaped American history, with her name and the words UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM and QUARTER DOLLAR. Five honorees were issued each year from 2022 to 2025.
