- Certification by PCGS or NGC, which buyers expect for scarce dates

What to check on your 2025-D
- Make sure the mint mark really is a D. A worn or filled mark can be misread. It's what separates your coin from the 2025-P (590,350 made).
- Judge the grade under good light. These are sold in rolls, bags and sets, so most survive uncirculated. Value depends on luster and freedom from marks.
The story of the 2025-D Florida: Space Shuttle
Denver made 544,775 of the Florida: Space Shuttle innovation dollar. Among the 4 designs of 2025 it was the second largest Denver run, between Michigan: Automobile assembly line (540,375) and Texas: International Space Station (545,600).
Philadelphia struck a similar number of the same design (590,350), so neither mint's version is much harder to find.
Across the whole program it sits 24th of 29 Denver designs by mintage, where the scarcest is Georgia: Trustees' Garden at 368,475.
Elsewhere in US coinage in 2025
The Treasury announced the end of penny production for circulation and the last circulating cents were struck in Philadelphia in November 2025. It was also the final year of the American Women quarters.
How to recognize it
The Florida: Space Shuttle design
Florida's coin celebrates the Space Shuttle, the reusable spacecraft that flew 135 missions from 1981 to 2011. Every shuttle mission launched from Launch Complex 39 at NASA's Kennedy Space Center, where the orbiters were also prepared between flights. The shuttle carried crews, satellites and the Hubble Space Telescope into orbit and helped build the International Space Station. The reverse shows a shuttle lifting off from Launch Complex 39, with smoke from its solid rocket boosters along the lower edge and stars above. Ron Sanders designed it.
The American Innovation Dollar design
The obverse shows the Statue of Liberty in profile with IN GOD WE TRUST and $1. Each reverse honors an innovation or innovator from one state or territory, issued in the order the states joined the Union. The date, mint mark and E PLURIBUS UNUM are lettered on the edge, which is where to look for the mint mark.
