What is a 2025-D Arkansas: Raye Montague Innovation Dollar worth?
Collectors pay a real premium for this date, worn or not, because far fewer were made than usual. Uncirculated pieces go much higher.
What would make yours worth more:
- Uncirculated condition with full original luster
- A die variety or minting error
- Certification by PCGS or NGC, which buyers expect for scarce dates

What to check on your 2025-D
- Make sure the mint mark really is a D. A worn or filled mark can be misread. It's what separates your coin from the 2025-P (520,900 made).
- Check the date and mint mark under magnification for tooling or added letters. Scarce dates are the ones forgers alter.
- Judge the grade under good light. These are sold in rolls, bags and sets, so most survive uncirculated. Value depends on luster and freedom from marks.
Low-mintage dates attract altered and counterfeit coins. Check that the mint mark and date have not been tooled or added, or buy one already certified by PCGS or NGC.
The story of the 2025-D Arkansas: Raye Montague
Denver made 405,000 of the Arkansas: Raye Montague innovation dollar. That was the smallest Denver run of the 4 designs issued in 2025, so it's the one from that year you're least likely to find in change.
Philadelphia struck a similar number of the same design (520,900), so neither mint's version is much harder to find.
Across the whole program it's one of the Denver designs made in the smallest numbers, 4th from the bottom of 29.
Elsewhere in US coinage in 2025
The Treasury announced the end of penny production for circulation and the last circulating cents were struck in Philadelphia in November 2025. It was also the final year of the American Women quarters.
How to recognize it
The Arkansas: Raye Montague design
Raye Montague, a naval engineer from Little Rock, Arkansas, is honored on this 2025 dollar. Working for the U.S. Navy, she pioneered computer-aided ship design, producing the first computer-generated draft of a ship design in 1971 in about 18 hours. That work, on what became the Oliver Hazard Perry class of frigates, helped make computer design standard practice. The reverse shows Montague visualizing one of these frigates, with a grid over the sea recalling the drafting methods she digitized. It is inscribed RAYE MONTAGUE.
The American Innovation Dollar design
The obverse shows the Statue of Liberty in profile with IN GOD WE TRUST and $1. Each reverse honors an innovation or innovator from one state or territory, issued in the order the states joined the Union. The date, mint mark and E PLURIBUS UNUM are lettered on the edge, which is where to look for the mint mark.
