What is a 2015-S Homestead Quarter Uncirculated worth?

Age alone gives this coin a small premium, even worn. Sharp details and original surfaces push it higher.

What would make yours worth more:

  • Grade and, for proofs, strong cameo contrast
  • A die variety or minting error

For market prices, check recent sold results for certified coins in the same grade.

What to check on your 2015-S

  • Make sure the mint mark really is an S. A worn or filled mark can be misread. It's what separates your coin from the 2015-P (214 million made).
  • Judge the grade under good light. Look for luster and freedom from bag marks. "W" quarters in circulation are worth a premium even in average condition.

How to recognize it

The Homestead design

Nebraska's quarter, first of 2015, honors Homestead National Monument of America, since renamed Homestead National Historical Park. The design is built around three essentials of survival on a claim: a log cabin for shelter, ears of corn for food and a water pump for water. The park preserves the claim of Daniel Freeman near Beatrice, one of the first filed under the Homestead Act of 1862. Ronald D. Sanders designed the reverse, which Jim Licaretz sculpted.

The America the Beautiful Quarter design

Each reverse shows a national park or other national site, one for every state, the District of Columbia and five territories, with the site's name, its state and E PLURIBUS UNUM. Five designs were issued each year from 2010 to 2020, followed by a final design for the Tuskegee Airmen in 2021. The obverse uses a restored, more detailed version of Flanagan's original Washington portrait.
